Microsoft, Salesforce in Process to Collaborate in Running Cloud Computing Service

Two arch rivals in the domain of cloud computing and software applications – Microsoft Corporation and Salesforce – are joining hands to create a collaborative business ecosystem.

This has been learnt through the reliable sources that both of the companies are in a long process of negotiation to reach the conclusion of establishing a possible partnership for running software as a service SaaS on Azure cloud computing platform. Although, both of the companies have not officially announced this breaking news as yet – but, the short statement from both of the companies to have agreed that some software products would work better in collaboration between the two platforms signals something big is in making between these two giants.

It was also officially announced that the customer relationship management (CRM) software would be available for different operating systems of Microsoft devices – mobile and computers. The Salesforce CRM would run in integration with the Office 365 cloud computing service of Microsoft Corporation on both the windows based mobiles and computers. This announcement is big news in the domain of information technology and especially in the fiercely competitive cloud computing marketplace.

MicrosoftSalesforce and Microsoft Corporation share a very hostile business history during the past 10 years – during that hostile period – both of the companies aggressively termed each other the enemy to each other through different marketing and legal pursuits.

During a conference call, while talking about this new progress in between the two cloud computing companies, the CEO of Salesforce Mr. Marc Benioff said, “This announcement is really about putting our customers first.” Many analysts believe that Marc Benioff is considered to have good relationship with the newly appointed CEO of Microsoft Mr. Satya Nadella; and, due to the joint efforts of the CEOs of both companies, they are inching towards a large scale collaboration not only in cloud computing domain but also in the software development field. This announcement was made via a short official statement issued to the media. There were no more details of the agreement or any other information pertaining to technicalities or commercial understanding.

Like many analysts, the senior analyst with Bernstein Research, Mr. Mark Moerdler suggests that, “It’s possible any deal would be limited to Salesforce.com’s Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and possibly Force.com as these are the most synergistic to Microsoft cloud offerings (Office 365, Azure, Skype and possibly even Microsoft Dynamics CRM).”

This was announced by Salesforce, the prominent provider of cloud computing services, that it has launched a mobile app that will enable the cloud computing services users to run their businesses from their smart phones with the help of this highly featured mobile application. The name of this newly launched mobile app is “Salesforece1”. This announcement was made public at a World Tour Event for the summer season.

It was further elaborated about this newly launched application that, it offers more than 30 salient features that will enable the customers to manage their business more effectively and efficiently. These features include the sales, marketing, data management, and other process handling capabilities. Now, the cloud computing users can easily log into this highly featured app and manage their business processes from their mobile phones.

At present, this mobile app also handles more than 65 partner’s applications that will enable to use the services and features of the services offered by the partners of the Salesforce cloud computing company. This mobile application is also capable of handling the customized business applications that are suitable for certain businesses of the customers.

While talking about the technical features and capabilities of the mobile app, it was further informed that this application can run on all common browsers available in the marketplace. This application is also capable to create a customized business ecosystem that can connect to different applications such as SAP and other database and customer relationship management (CRM).

In his statement, the senior director of the mobile products at Salesforce Corporation, Mr. Michael Peachy said, “We have a clear indication that customers are taking the app and branding it and adding custom actions.”

This application supports blackberry, Apple iPhones, and windows 8 smart phones along with the Android cell phones. This application also supports, email, questions and answers, and many other features to manage the entire business ecosystem on a mobile device.

At the same time, the company also announced that it is going to expand its infrastructure footprints in the European region. The company is launching a new state of the art data center in the United Kingdom; and a few more data centers both in France and Germany will be launched soon.

The CEO of Salesforce Marc Benioff announced one of the most ambitious cloud computing based platform of the company last week. He unleashed the innovative and highly capable cloud platform during the IT event of the company “Dreamforce” in San Franscisco. He termed the platform as the most promising, futuristic and ideal for the integrated approach for customers to experience the internet of customers on a single platform.

Explaining the features and capabilities of this cloud platform, Benioff said, “This platform is very suitable for the developers for mobile, social and cloud applications – and we have strived  to provide the best way to interact with the customers the way they deserve to be interacted.” He further said that mobile applications are a bit difficult to build but this new generation platform makes it more convenient for the developers.  He further pointed out that they have assessed the way to connect with the customers very delicately and developed this platform as a complete and consolidated solution to connect the customers entirely new way.

He further informed the audience that included the customers, nonprofits and partners of the company that “this is not just a speech but it is a high performance and quality platform that will provide a glimpse of the future of the internet of customers”.

On this occasion, the Salesforce also announced its strategic partnership with HP by announcing the product called as “Superpod” – and also reiterated that Salesforce would be transformed into a customer company very soon.
