Greatresponder.com – 2011-08-19 – On Tuesday, the web hosting provider and innovator CoolHandle Hosting made the announcement that is has now installed CloudLinus to improve server performance and support its growth.

The server operating system that was deployed by the web hosting company, CloudLinus, was put in place to provide greater scalability, security and improved performance on shared hosting servers through its Lightweight Virtual Environment technology, according to the press release.

This technology contains each user. It also allows a specific amount of server resources to be allocated. This procedure will successfully eliminate the “bad neighbor” effect that happens when one account spikes in resources.

“All CoolHandle customers will benefit directly from CloudLinux,” CoolHandle’s director of marketing, Ryan Morris said in a statement. “Particularly heavy resource-usage software and websites built using WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal. CloudLinux helps us guarantee that all of these users enjoy excellent uptime and performance.”

The web hosting company says that this new technology prevents resource spikes from affecting other accounts on the server. The vice president of CloudLinux, Marv Steigman, said in a statement that CoolHandle will “generally make life easier for sysadmins through the unique benefits the CloudLinux OS offers.”

Both companies are specialized in Linux. CloudLinux claims it has been used by many hosting providers looking to accommodate resource spikes to maintain uptime for all customers.

In May, cPanel made a partnership with CloudLinux to enable its partners and customers to have pay-per-use software delivery. At the time, cPanel said CloudLinux offered a “unique opportunity” for web hosts to increase server stability and performance.
