Greatresponder.com – 2011-06-26 – Web hosting oriented data center owner and developer company Sabey Data Center Properties announced several days ago it plans to develop and build truly big 490,000-square foot web hosting data center campus on 38 acres of raw land it has acquired in Ashburn, North Virginia.

The move comes a several weeks after Sabey company acquired a one million square foot data center in NY Manhattan for around $120 million from M & T Bank and Taconic Investment Partners.

Sabey company will begin development of Intergate.Ashburn in late summer, approximately in August, where the company’s in-house construction unit, Sabey Construction, will acts as primary contractor for the project. The company currently offers a leasing for the new web hosting data center campus.

Located in a few miles out of Dulles International Airport, Intergate.Ashburn will significantly expand Sabey’s national data center footprint and provide direct proximity to all network exchanges in the region.

Consisting of three primary buildings, the campus web hosting data center will offer Sabey’s turnkey and powered shell data center products in both multi and single-tenant lay-outs.

The point will be served with over 70 megawatts of electric power, meeting the needs of tenants with different design challenges and power requirements.

Referring to press release, the data center campus is similar in design to that of Intergate.Quincy, a 520,000 square-foot campus that is currently being constructed in Central Washington.

The fundamental design was perfected while developing Intergate.Columbia, also in Central Washington.

Intergate.Columbia’s 438,000 square feet were completed by SCI in December 2008 and is currently being leased to four investment grade tenants.

“Ashburn is another critical node in the array of data centers that Sabey is assembling to serve its customer base,” said John Sabey, president of Sabey Data Center Properties. “With campuses in the New York City and Washington DC metro areas, we are significantly enhancing our strategic presence and capacity as a national provider of data centers.”

Northern Virginia is a magnet for high tech businesses and web hosting data center providers supporting both commercial and government enterprise sector.

It is the second largest web hosting data center place on the East Coast after the New York area and is home to more than three millions of different data center facilities. Sabey company expects to invite tenants from the small business, government sector, social media and health care, as well as content and cloud hosting service providers.
