The Fanatical Support was earlier accessible in US markets, while the extension puts the Azure service in a row with its other offerings like Amazon Web Services. The Navigator service presents access to tools and automation, whereas Aviator does the similar, and additionally offers a fully-managed Azure practice, providing improved man-hours, custom architectural design and all-year support, as well as performing environment build and deployment activities.

“Our launch of this offering marked an important expansion of our strategy to offer the world’s best expertise and service on industry-leading technologies, and is a natural progression of our 14-year relationship with Microsoft” said Jeff DeVerter, Chief Technologist for Microsoft Technology at Rackspace.

“It’s been nearly a year since Rackspace announced Fanatical Support for Microsoft Azure, which we launched to assist customers who want to run IaaS workloads on the powerful Azure cloud, but prefer not to architect, secure and operate them first-hand. In addition to this expanded footprint, our service offerings are growing to include many of the Platform-as-a-Service features in Azure utilized by modern cloud applications” he said.

The two service levels within Fanatical Support for Microsoft Azure, Navigator and Aviator, extent the migration, architecture, security and operations needs companies have today. These service levels will permit us to address the requirements of two different client groups:

For companies concerned with infrastructure support for their Azure environment, the Navigator level presents access to tools and automation capturing the best practice information of Azure architects and engineers, as well as on-demand access to those experts as needed.

Aviator expands the benefits of Navigator to a fully-managed Azure experience, providing improved application of human knowledge, fully-custom architectural design and 24x7x365 operational support, in addition extra tooling integrating best practices for your Azure environment.

The Aviator is a service for clients who want a more complete support experience, together with the guest virtual machine organization. At this level, Rackspace will perform environment, build and deployment activities in addition to ongoing management of virtual machines that includes monitoring, patching, troubleshooting and antivirus.
