Microsoft Cloud App “Security” Ready to Uncover Shadow IT

The upcoming cloud app from Microsoft will help the IT administrators of the enterprises to uncover and identify those cloud services that are not monitored and can be used to give away data.

“Today, we are announcing Microsoft Cloud App Security, based on the Adallom technology, will become generally available in April 2016. Microsoft Cloud App Security brings the same level of visibility and control that IT departments have in their on-premises network to their SaaS applications including apps like Box, SalesForce, ServiceNow, Ariba, and of course Office 365” said Microsoft Chief Information Security Officer Bret Arsenault.

Microsoft Cloud App Security will also authorize new superior security administration abilities constructed into Office 365 that will perk up IT visibility and management. These new capabilities contain; Advanced security alerts that will inform Office 365 administrators of irregular or doubtful movement in the service so that they can take action. The Cloud app discovery, which enables IT to examine which cloud services the users are linking to. App permissions that offers the capability to support or withdraw permissions for third party services that your users are endorsed to hook up to Office 365.

He further said “Protecting Microsoft’s environment entails managing security for more than 1 million corporate devices across the globe, using multiple platforms. The diversity of our computing environment often mirrors those of our customers, which enables us to develop services that meet their security needs.”
