Juniper Networks would help Nike to integrate their data centers across the globe with the help of cloud computing based virtualized infrastructure.
GREATRESPONDER.COM – This was announced by the two giants – Juniper Networks, and Nike Shoe Stores – in their respective domains that they are going to establish a partnership to develop a cloud computing based network to integrate the data centers of Nike located all around the world. This announcement was made public on Sunday, August 17, 2014 through a joint statement. The partnership would work out an integrated and comprehensive solution for the giant retailer to integrate the on-premises resources into a private cloud computing based network.
It was further informed through the official joint statement of the companies that targeted cloud computing network as the result of this partnership would be a new cloud of the data centers and retail network infrastructure to offer the benefits of the cloud to Nike.
The chief executive officer of Juniper Networks, Mr. Shaygan Kheradpir, in his official statement said, “The aim of the partnership is to create secure network architecture that is also “ultra-scalable”. Enterprises are re-engineering their business models in light of changing customer behavior and emerging technologies.” He further added that, “It also requires building private clouds that deliver applications with high performance and agility.”
It was maintained in by the CEO of the company that for this transformation of the existing networks into a new cloud computing based network, the high performance network infrastructure is highly needed, so that a seamless and smooth transformation and subsequently adoption of the next generation networks can be accomplished.
While informing about the technical aspects of the partnership, the statement elaborated that MetaFabric of Juniper Networks would be deployed by the Nike Company; this platform will act as the core foundation of virtualization of the entire resources of the company located across the globe. This implementation would offer high flexibility, reliability and scalability to the Nike infrastructure as maintained in the statement.
In his statement, the CTO of Nike Company, Mr. Anthony Watson said, “The changes to its architecture are to support the company’s current and future business goals. This requires progressive and agile technology solutions that keep pace with our growth, which is what Juniper’s solutions offer.” He further maintained that Nike’s IT governance will improve with the help of this partnership.
