Seagate Launches Cloud Computing Oriented 6TB Hard Disk Drive

This enterprise grade hard disk – Seagate Enterprise Capacity 3.5HDD v.4 – is designed specially to remove the bottlenecking in the cloud computing services via its high performance and large capacity.

GREATRESPONDER.COM – It was announced by the popular hard disk manufacturer Seagate Corporation this weekend that it is going to launch a new brand series of its fasted and high performance hard disk drives designed for the cloud computing uses.

The announcement was made in the wake of the exponentially growing demand of the hard disk drive space and performance in the cloud computing services both private and public clouds. Seagate has designed and developed the most efficient disk drives whose performance is about 25% higher than the highest performing disk drives in the marketplace. It was further explained about the importance of this disk in the domain of cloud computing services that the company has developed this disk that offers industry grade security, self encrypting drive or SED feature, and instant secure erase ISE features.

While talking about the technical features of this new device, it was informed that this disk drive operates at 7200 RPM with any of these two interfaces – SATA 6Gbps interface, or 12Gbps SAS interface – which are very ideal for the modern data centers that support, enterprise backup and restore function, survelliance applications, and modern cloud computing solutions.

The official statement for new product launch also elaborated that the Seagate Enterprise Capacity 3.5 HDD v.4 is available in different capacities, such as – 2TB, 4TB, 5TB, and 6TB – and the shipping of these denominations of hard drives is underway. The company also announced that it will use these drives in its own business branding offers very soon.
