Box cloud storage company eyes on strengthening the security of enterprise data stored on its servers to increase the customer value and satisfaction.
GREATRESPONDER.COM – This was announced by the Box cloud storage company on Tuesday, Feb 25, 2014 in a conference held in San Francisco that the company is taking on board the former CEO of Symantec Corporation as an advisor to the company on data security. This move of the company was made due to the increased demands of the enterprise customers regarding the security and data integrity measures taken in the cloud storage marketplace.
The former CEO of Symantec has been a veteran in the industry of cyber security, and possess a strong world view pertaining to the cloud computing and cloud storage security. He has contributed a lot in the domain of security and possesses a vast experience, which the Box wants to benefit from to establish the reputed name in the domain of cloud storage business. The company is also eyeing on increasing the number of customer accounts with the help of the guidance of Mr. Enrique Salem.
Talking about the Box, Salem said that it will be a great opportunity for the company to set new standards for security in the data storage business while working with the slate of partners. He further said while talking about the importance of security in data and cloud storage, “I’ve spent a lot of my career thinking about what matters (in security) and I think it starts with the notion of classification – After all, for most companies, there is data and then there is data. I used to meet with a lady at a large chemical company who said ’1 percent of my data is what really matters. We spend a billion dollars on a new chemical formula and that’s what I need to protect.”
Meanwhile, speaking about the expertise and experience of Mr. Salem, the CEO of Box Aaron Levie said, “Salem’s experience managing a company “far larger than Box is incredibly helpful – This is an opportunity to work together and drive more of a strategy and awareness around the future of cloud and enterprise security models.”
