India is one of the fastest growing cloud computing markets in the world. It crosses $404 million mark in public cloud business this year. It is anticipated to cross $1.3 billion mark by 2017.

According to a research conducted by Gartner, the public cloud market of in India has noticed as much as 33.6% growth and subsequently the volume of cloud based business crossed $404 million mark. In the previous year the business counted for $303 millions. It was further forecasted in the research report that the market volume of cloud based service in this fast growing country will cross remarkable mark of $1.3 billion by the year 2017.
This clearly opens up a wide range of business opportunities for all sized business stakeholders in the domain of information technology especially the big vendors such as Cisco Systems, IBM, HP, Dell, VMware, Citrix, AWS, Microsoft and many others.
Elaborating the research results, the research director at Gartner, Ed Anderson said, “The public cloud services market continues robust growth in India through over the forecast period of 2011 through 2017. While SaaS dominates as the largest cloud segment, the high growth rates of IaaS and platform as a service (PaaS) make them important markets to watch”.
It has been observed during the last few years that the cloud computing market in India is expanding at an unprecedented rate and it will continue this pace for many years to come. There is a huge opportunity for the growth in cloud based services. There are many sectors and domains of industries where the cloud based technologies have not fully penetrated into this country. There is a huge market of over one 1200 million people and the majority of them are younger than 30 years.
This huge growth in cloud based services will prove to be an exciting news for big stakeholders like AWS, Google, Microsoft and others to aggressively expand their operations in this country.
