GreatResponder.com on April 23, 2012: VEXXHOST announced today the introduction of a free 7-days trial of its cloud servers. As noted on their blog announcement, the trial aims to facilitate cloud adoption and show all types of customers how easy it is to get started on the cloud, regardless of what type of customer they are. VEXXHOST mentions that even dedicated server users will find an advantage in migrating their servers to the cloud.
The advantages listed by VEXXHOST for migrating to the cloud are numerous, however, the most important ones mentioned in the blog post was the ease of scalability. With a regular dedicated server, you are limited by the amount of upgrades that you can complete.
If you need to upgrade your HDD, it might take an extremely long amount of time, also, you may run into limitations with the hardware that you use, such as the server not supported RAM beyond a certain number, or a CPU upgrade. VEXXHOST mentions that their cloud service can solve all those issues.
The blog post mentions that the cloud service can allow any customer to scale from 256MB RAM all the way up to 95GB of RAM. This is something that dedicated or virtual private servers cannot offer.
The listed specifications for the trial server are: 1GB of RAM, 36GB of disk space & 1TB of bandwidth. The trial gives full access to the control panel and allows you to fully test all the features of the server. Once the trial is done, the user can pay $25 per month to keep the server or downgrade it to a lower specification server (as low as $8.00 per month) or upgrade the server to your requirements.
