As stated in the press release, Mobile My Services will enable the clients of the web hosting provider to use cloud services such as Exchange email and Lync instant message to manage setting such as passwords, contact information and out of office message. This application will also be featuring an automatic email configuration to walk users through the set up of hosted Exchange email on their iPhone.
“So many executives tell us they were headed out of the office for a business trip or vacation and realized half way to the airport that they hadn’t set up their email Œout of office reply,” Michael Gold, president, Intermedia said in a statement. “Likewise, we hear often from IT managers that they’re spending too much time configuring users mobile devices or helping those users adjust basic settings like passwords. Mobile My Services was built to solve issues like these. The app provides a simple way for users to get the job done when they¹re on the go. IT managers and other account administrators like it because it¹s secure and frees up their time for higher value work.”
The mobile app is available on iPhone and iPod Touch devices with iOS version 3.0+. According to the press release, in the near future, the versions that are compatable for iPad and other mobile platforms will be released.
In August, the web hostin company officially launched its HostPilot mobile app for provisioning and managing cloud services.
Both apps are free according to Intermedia. They are presently accessible for current Intermedia clients using hosted Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010. Mobile My Services is also available at the iTunes app store and Mobile HostPilot is available at both the Android Market and iTunes store.
