After going through seven different cities from Canada to Mexico in the past months, Microsot’s Hostapalozza event is hosted in Phoenix, Arizona on September 22 2011. The road show will continue afterwards towards other countries such as Argentina, Columbia, Chile and a couple of other US cities.
With the main focus of educating their future customers as a marketing tool, these series of events maintain a model of a one-day event that provides hands-on instructions for their set of server and hosting products and information regarding Microsoft’s Service Provider Licensing Agreement which allows hosting providers to lease Microsoft’s operating systems and software for their customers which helps decreases costs and large upfront purchasing fees.
The Phoenix event is sponsored by Dell with some of Microsoft’s other partners. It takes place at Hotel Valley Ho at Scottsdale, Arizona and the event runs from 11:30 AM to 5:30PM. There has been an average of 50 attendees per event with the majority being companies with their own infrastructure. However, having a small crowd is one of the important things for these events, as they would like to maintain a level of intimacy with their partners.
Hostapalooza fall under the set of events organized by Microsoft’s Hosting University, a large set of articles, documents and knowledegebase for hosting partners. It is there to assist hosting partners to market their Microsoft set of hosting products and help resellers educate their customers on the services that they are getting.
