This OnApp CDN was created with web hosting providers in mind. This will be able to provide then with CDN without having to build their own infrastructure.

Lately, PEER 1 extended its partner program and partnership across EMEA. As stated in the press release, he web hosting provider will connect four of its PoPs in North America to an expanded CDN infrastructure of 18 additional PoPs through the OnApp CDN Federation.

The OnApp Federation is a group of web hosting providers who happen to share data center resources to establish content delivery network.

“Internet businesses need CDN services to maximize the web page experience of customers irrespective of their geographic location,” Tim Varma, vice president of product development at PEER 1 Hosting said in a statement. “The OnApp CDN allows us to give our customers the global reach to make this happen in a consistent way.”

According to PEER 1 Web Hosting, the new PoPs span continent such as Asia and Europe. By sharing infrastructure with partners, PEER 1 says it has minimized investment and can offer competitive pricing to customers.
