Greatresponder.com – 2011-08-03 – On Wednesday, cPannel which offers web hosting power to companies and Open-Xchange the open source email and groupware provider made the announcement that Open-Xchange will be integrated into the control panel. This combined offer will be previewed as the San Diego HostingCon 2011.
“Open-Xchange gives service providers a competitive advantage with their customer base. By leveraging Open-Xchange software, cPanel partners will strengthen their relationship with existing customers, increase their average revenue per user and attract new customers,” says Aaron Phillips the vice president of operations in cPanel in a statement.
As stated by the press release, the partnership between Open-Xchange and cPanel makes placement and billing of Open-Xchange calmer for service providers and customers because of the familiarity of the cPanel interface.
According to the statement, all web hosting providers will now be able to offer Open-Xchange to their shared hosting and VPS customers by installing a software package together with cPanel.
Clienteles that are presently using webmail user interfaces such as Roundcube or SquirrelMail can change to Open-Xchange simply, according to the press release. Open-Xchange gives clients access to advanced email, calendar, contact and task management.
Open-Xchange also features information management, document sharing and social media integration capabilities.
“To make it simple for cPanel partners, we adopted the cPanel pricing model and charge partners per cPanel server,” Rafael Laguna, CEO of Open-Xchange stated. “This makes it extremely easy for hosting partners to calculate and resell Open-Xchange to their end customers and reduces time to market to almost zero.”
