1&1 web hosting, the world’s largest providers of Internet and web hosting services, the Germany-based Internet and web hosting provider has now big changes. 1&1 announced on Thursday, that Andreas Gauger is no more in his position as CEO and chairman of the board. And the new CEO will be Oliver Mauss.
Oliver Mauss was CEO of 1&1 Internet, also the company’s subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, Spain and France; Mauss will be also in responsible to lead 1&1’s global web hosting operations.
Oliver Mauss worked for Vodafone Group for over a decade and recently as the global director of business product marketing. He also held positions in business development and product management at telecommunication companies such as o.tel.o and RWE Telliance.
In 1999, Oliver Gauger became chairman of the board after 1&1 Internet acquired Schlund + Partner, his German web hosting company,.
1&1 said in the company announcement.”Within a short time, Andreas Gauger has led 1&1 to become one of the world’s leading web hosts, by defining a standard for user-friendly and cost-effective web hosting solutions and by developing and directing 1&1’s successful international expansion strategy”.
